Headache or Migraine. This video is on how to get rid of headaches, causes, relief, cures, treatment and symptoms.

We all get headaches sometimes and the vast majority of them are nothing to worry about. In this video I’m going to tell you how to get rid of them and when you should seek medical attention. There are also many things that will make your headache worse and can even bring it on. These are probably the most important things which are often overlooked by patients which are also included in this video.

Pent-up anger
When you’re angry, muscles in the back of your neck and scalp tense up, causing a tight band-like sensation around your head. This is a sign of a tension headache.

How to fix it: When you start feeling angry, breathe deeply and slowly. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, This should relax your head and neck muscles.

Poor posture
Poor posture causes tension in your upper back, neck and shoulders, which can lead to a headache. Typically, the pain throbs in the base of the skull and sometimes flashes into the face, especially the forehead.

How to fix it: Avoid sitting or standing in one position for a long period of time. Sit up straight and support your lower back. Consider using a special headset if you spend a lot of time on the phone, as holding a handset between your head and shoulder can strain muscles and cause headaches.

Bright lights
Bright lights and glare, especially if flickering, can induce migraines. This is because bright and flickering lights boost the levels of certain chemicals in the brain, which then activate the migraine centre.

How to fix it: At work, adjust your computer monitor or attach a glare screen. You may be able to turn off certain lights or move them. If you can’t, change where you sit in the office. Fluorescent lighting tends to flicker, so if you’re able to, substitute it with some other form of lighting.

Food triggers
Food triggers, were all different and certain foods do bring on headaches and migraines for some people. The common culprits are cheese, fizzy drinks and processed meats. So keep a diary on your phone writing down what you eat when you get migraines and find a correlation. Once you suspect a certain food is causing the headaches eliminate it for a couple of months and see if there is any improvement. Don’t get rid of food groups long term without speaking to your doctor.

Medication overuse headache is an unpleasant and long-lasting headache. It is caused by taking painkilling medication – usually for headache. Unfortunately, when painkillers are taken regularly for headaches, the body responds by making more pain sensors in the head. Eventually the pain sensors are so many that the head is super-sensitive and the headache won’t go away. People who have these headaches often take more and more painkillers to try to feel better. However, the painkillers have often long ceased to work.

Medication-overuse headaches are the most common cause of secondary headache. Read more about them here: https://patient.info/brain-nerves/headache-leaflet/medication-overuse-headache

  1. I suffer from Migraines and my GP gave me a list of all the foods that could trigger it. My main triggers I noticed was Cheese & Dr Pepper (Fizzy drink). As I grown up the migraines subsided, at the expense of what I gave up and not just the obvious triggers. But jut came through this video to find useful way and tips to get rid of the common headache. Great vid!

  2. Today I went to thrift store and flea market and didn’t eat for 5 hours; I also had some pretzels and after I finished eating them I saw that there was some brown stuff on the bottom and I thought it was crumbs and it turned out to be salt, and not just a bit of salt, it was a lot of salt and after 30 minutes I started feeling weird. Oh BTW sorry for the long story but anyways what do you think is causing my headache?

  3. Me: *hast eaten a proper meal in the past 24 hours*
Also be: oh boy, ai wonder what’s causing my migraine?

  7. you know when you have a nap in the day for hours so at night you can’t fall asleep and then you have a headache but because you already slept in the day you can’t get to sleep and because of the pain of the headache you start crying which makes it worse then you feel sick and just want to die.. that’s me rn

  8. I probably should really get checked out I suffer so bad I hate when people say they have a headache and still able to function you have no idea I get Migraines so bad I ball the close my eyes so its as dark as possible and I usually just hold my head and cry try to breathe slowly it kinda helps me deal with the pain. I want it to end.

  9. I have been suffering for 10 years. Not a single doctor has ever mentioned medication overuse (rebound). Thanks for the video.

  10. The Food Trigger thing has happened to me three times. The third one being the worst one and the most recent one. I had a headache, I mixed fizzy drinks with fried food, that was why, after a while I vomited, then like 30 minutes later, I vomited and went to sleep, when I woke up I was fine, I had energy, I didn’t feel bad in any way, so I ate Fried Foods and Fizzy Drinks once again, I didn’t learn from the mistake I made that same morning, 3 Hours after that, I had another Headache, but since it didn’t really hurt, I ignored it, 10 minutes later I went to sleep, but my Heart was very accelerated, I told my mom, It was a Tachycard, I drunk some Tea, and I vomited, but this the Vomit was X10 times worse than the last time, I was basically a Vomit Bazooka at that point, and the Headache mixed with the Vomit made everything just worse. 30 Minutes later, I finally felt okay, and I slept in my Parents Room. That was without a doubt, the worse experience in my whole life, it happened 2 Months Ago, a week before my 14th birthday… Thank God I am alive.

  11. I feel like I have a headache that’s why I’m watching this video and I’m going to subscribe to this to this video

  12. I feel like someone went inside my head and is just repeatedly punching the sides of my forehead from the inside

  13. Medication over use is extremely rare! Eeekkkk. I’m talking about opioids mostly. Doctors always want to blame opioids on chronic migraines. It’s usually not that.

  14. I’ve had a continuous headache 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for the last 15 years, averaging a pain level between 4 and 5 out of 10, but peaking through the 7s to 10s occasionally. I have been to multiple doctors and had heaps of tests done, with still no diagnosis. I drink plenty of water and don’t take painkillers unless I really need to (not usually the case)

Is there any advice out there for anyone like me, because the only other option I have is to chop my head off! Haha

  15. Me when I have headache : mum I have a headache
My mum: its just growing pains
    Could be half dying:
My mum: it’s only growing pains
